The 33-year-old “Glee” star was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on July 24, according to a death certificate obtained by CNN. Hollywood Hills Cemetery is the final resting place for many celebrities, including Paul Walker, Carrie Fisher, Bette Davis and Liberace.
Rivera drowned in Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, after taking her son on a chartered boat. It took several investigators to find his body, but the medical examiner determined he drowned within minutes, according to the death certificate.
No other significant factors that contributed to Rivera’s death were listed.
Josey, Rivera’s 4-year-old son, was put to sleep on the floating boat when the pontoon boat was not returned to the rental company on time.
Fox creators of “Glee” said in a statement that they were “baffled” by the death of the actress, who played Santana Lopez on the show for six seasons.
Her statement added, “Naya was more than an actor on our show, she was our friend.”
