China on Monday registered 19 new cases of coronavirus on the mainland, the National Health Commission (NHC) announced on Tuesday.

Of the new cases, 11 were imported and eight were transmitted locally. Local cases include seven in Beijing and one in Shanghai. No further deaths were reported.

The capital continues to publish new cases, although last week local officials called for an outbreak in a “basically contained” wholesale food market.

In addition, four asymptomatic cases were reported by the NHC. Currently, 99 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

To date, China has reported 83,531 cases of coronavirus, with 4,634 deaths.

The health agency declared a total of 78,469 patients so far discharged.

It is estimated that 400,000 residents in Anxin County, Hebei Province, have been subjected to new blocking measures amid a small increase in cases.

Anxin, a relatively rural and sparsely populated county, is about 145 kilometers south of Beijing, which has seen a surge in coronavirus cases linked to the Xinfadi market in the past two weeks.
